Coordinates: N 57°21'37,4" E 25°15'31,7"
Location: Cesis district, Priekuli municipality, right bank of Gauja River in sharp bend, 700 m N from Pieskali;
Description: One of the most beautiful and largest cliffs in Latvia.
Majestic sandstone wall rising out from Gauja River. At the low water periods the height of
vertical wall reaches 22 m, 18-20 m height continues for long distance.
During the Soviet time there was planned to build a hotle above the cliff. Happily this was
not realised.
Only part of the cliff is seen from the river, large part is hidden in the forest. River
flows along 330 m long part of those cliffs.
